City Denies Fault in Electrocution of Young Boy

by Administrator 29. January 2009 07:01
5-year-old Izaya Baiz-Hickley was killed after crawling in to a nearby utility box in his apartment complex.  He was electrocuted. The city maintains their innocence, saying it was an accidental death.  However, they cannot 100% verify if the utility box was locked or unlocked at the time Baiz-Hickley crawled in.  They claim the utility box had not been touched since a year prior when it was being painted.  They attest vandels might have stolen the keys. So who's responsibility is it to make sure the box stays closed at all times? The parents of Izaya do not think it is possible for a 5-year-old to break in to a metal box.  Therefore, the city should claim responsibility for their negligence. If you or someone you know has been injured due to negligence on another's behalf, it is important that you contact your Rhinelander personal injury laywer at 800-242-2874 to discuss your next steps.

Seatbelt Malfunction Causes Death in Young Woman

by Administrator 16. January 2009 06:01

Sandra Dozier was killed in a car accident while driving her 1998 Pontiac Grand Prix.  She lost control of the vehicle, and it rolled over.  It was a seat-belt related accident, but not what you may think.  Dozier was properly wearing her seat belt.

There is a pending claim initiated by Dozier’s family in regards to the seat-belt manufacturers.  The family is arguing the injuries imposed on their daughter were due to the unreasonably dangerous and “not reasonably crashworthy” seat belt system built in to the vehicle.

There is evidence from the scene of the accident that agrees with the family’s claims, and points to negligence on the car manufacturer’s end.

There were glass particles found in the webbing, markings by the d-ring, and stains below stow point on the belt that are all strong indicators of a defective seat belt.

If you or someone you know has suffered an injury, or death, due to a malfunctioning product, it is crucial you contact a Rhinelander personal injury lawyer at 800-242-2874 to discuss potential compensation for your losses and sufferings.
