There has been a nationwide recall of pork sauage after it was found by the U.S. Department of Agriculture that wheat was in the product and not on the label.
The manufacturer, Mekong Fresh Meats, has said that the allergen was found in the oyster sauce that the meat is produced in. The oyster sauce is bought from another company and Mekong Fresh Meats was unaware that it was used.
The recalled products were produced from June 21 to September 21. The USDA said the no allergen illnesses have been produced and the possibility to become ill is low. The sausage will continue to be produced, but the oyster sauce will now be omitted.
