Wisconsin to pass new law that makes medical records private

Posted under 9b6bd415-195f-45ef-8157-312652cc3830

Whenever there is an error in an hospital, a report is filed by the nurses and doctors involved detailing the incident in order for the hospital to know exactly what happened so they can put the appropriate safe measures in place so that it does not happen again.

A new bill that has been proposed in Wisconsin states that these medical records may now be kept private and not be subject to be supoenaed in court to be used in lawsuits.

Hospitals think that this may be a way to keep patients safe, but lawyers who have represented victims of medical malpractice in court think that this will make it much harder for them to prevail in court. Most lawyers use these reports in court in order to describe the initial incident in detail.

If you or a loved one has been the victim of medical malpractice, you need experienced representation on your side during this time. Contact the Rhinelander medical malpractice lawyers of Habush Habush & Rottier S.C. ®, by calling 800-242-2874 today.
