Choking safety risks cause toy company to recall 30,000 products

Posted under Product Liability

The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) announced that Toysmith is voluntarily recalling 30,000 of its Light-up Ducks and Frogs products on August 7.

The recall is a result of flaws in the conductor pin assembly, which is responsible for turning on the Light-Up option at the bottom of the toy, and is susceptible to coming off. The parts that break lose are said to be small enough for a child to swallow and big enough to cause a choking accident.

In spite of no reports of injuries from the defective toy, the CPSC has recommended to consumers to immediately stop using the product and to keep it out of reach of children.

If you purchased a defective toy product that has caused injury to your child in Rhinelander, an attorney at Habush Habush & Rottier S.C. ® may be able to fight for you. To learn more about your legal options for pursuing compensation and justice, call (800) 242-2874.
