The Racine County Sheriff’s Office reported that one of their on-duty officers was hospitalized last Tuesday, January 28 following a car collision.

According to the initial investigation, the officer was on-duty, driving an unmarked sport utility vehicle when a vehicle belonging to a 22-year-old Kansasville man slammed into him after failing to yield the right-of-way.

The officer was taken to the Wheaton Franciscan-All Saints Hospital and treated for non life-threatening injuries. The Wisconsin State Patrol is currently investigating the accident further.
