The life of a 4-year-old girl was taken after a dog attack in Iron Ridge, Wis.

The dog attack in late August occurred as the little girl and her family were visiting a home that they had never been to before and at some point the young child was left in the backyard of the home without supervision.

A 5-year-old boxer was also left in the yard and although it was on a leash, the leash extended long enough for him to roam across the yard. The dog then attacked the child for unknown reasons. She was taken to the hospital where she later succumbed to her injuries.

Police officials across the state of Wisconsin are cracking down on drunken drivers in order to reduce the number of alcohol-related crashes in the state. The campaign runs from August 24 through September 6, Labor Day.

The  “Drunk Driving — Over the Limit. Under Arrest” campaign will consist of extra police officials out and for extended period of times in order to catch impaired drivers who are on the roadways.

Last year during the campaign, the town of Beloit made 15 OWI arrests and issued 233 traffic citations. Throughout all of 2009, 346 OWI arrests were made. According to the Police Sgt. in Beloit, Wisconsin has the highest number of drunken driving in the nation.

A Wisconsin man was killed after a two-vehicle accident on Highway 81 in Rocky County.

Authorities say that a 32-year-old man was driving on the roadway when he crossed the center line into oncoming traffic for unknown reasons.

He then collided with a semi-truck driven by a 44-year-old man. The 32-year-old man was pronounced dead at the scene by emergency crews and the 44-year-old man was transported to the hospital to be treated for his injuries. The accident remains under investigation.

Last week, a 6-year-old boy was bitten in the face by a rescue dog while at a restaurant.

 The Upper Midwest Great Dane Rescue was holding a fundraiser at the Quaker Steak and Lube for the restaurant's Make a Difference Monday when the child and his parent stopped to say hello to the caretaker of the dog. The dog then bit the boy in the face.

He was then taken to the University of Wisconsin Hospital, but there has been no report of the boy's condition. The Great Dane has been quarantined at the vet to make sure that all of his shots are up to date.

Authorities are continuing to investigate a car accident that took the life of a 16-year-old boy and involved an on-duty police officer.

The accident occurred in late July around 1 a.m. as the police officer responded to a an accident. She was driving with her emergency lights and sirens on to get to a bar fight that was called in when she collided with the teen on Highway 35 and County OT.

The teen was thrown from the car in the accident and rushed to the hospital as soon as emergency crews arrived. He was later pronounced dead at the hospital.

A doctor from Marshfield has lost his license to practice medicine after being accused of illegally touching patients after they were sedated.

According to the Wisconsin Department of Regulation and Licensing the doctor's license was suspended while waiting for penalty to occur against the man. The Medical Examination Board found that last year the doctor inapropriately touched a female patient.

The doctor reported the incident and acknowledged multiple other incidents that occurred between 2003 and 2007. The doctor is being sued by a female patient for medical malpractice. The doctor is a former gastroenterologist.

Tri-Union Seafoods LLC has recalled cans of the Chicken of the Sea tuna in 10 different states after finding faulty seals on some products leading to possible product contamination.

According to a press release from the Federal Drug Administration, the company is issuing a voluntary product recall because the seal does not meet with the quality of the company and product. The recall involves the 12-ounce cans that have the 'Best Buy' date of 2/10/2014.

The cans were sold in Wisconsin, Utah, New York, Maine, California, Oregon, Colorado, Nebraska, Pennsylvania and Indiana. Consumers are urged not to eat the recalled products and Chicken of the Sea will be offering a refund.
