Collision Leaves Two Dead

by Administrator 24. September 2008 03:09
Two cars collided leaving two people dead and one injured on US 70 earlier this week.  Thomas and Debra Caverly were driving home, when a young 19 year old girl, Ashley Schaub hit their car.  The Caverly’s car flipped onto the guard rail, while Schaub’s car then pinned them inside.

According to local citizen, they tried to help the victims of the car crash, but the Caverly’s seem to have died on impact.  Schuab is listed as being in stable condition after being taken to Lenoir Memorial Hospital, and is thought to make a full recovery.

Traffic was held up for a little less than an hour as crews removed the victims from the scene, and the State Patrol removed the damaged cars.  Investigations into the cause of the accident are still being held.
