A semi-truck driver is now facing two lawsuits after a fatal crash in Washington County.
The driver and the owner of the semi are both named in the civil wrongful death lawsuit after the crash that occurred in December 2010 on Highway 14. The husband of a woman who was killed in the accident filed the suit in April and now a personal injury suit has also been filed.
The accident occurred as the man driving the semi-truck failed to stop when traffic began to slow. The truck then struck an SUV causing a chain reaction crash and the SUV crashed into the mini-van in front of it. The semi then struck another SUV causing it to be pushed through the median an into northbound lanes of traffic. The passenger in this vehicle was killed in the accident. The semi also hit a third vehicle causing serious injuries.
Our thoughts are with the friends and family of the victims.
