After a successful holiday season of bell ringing and donation collection last year, 12-year old miniature horse Tinker is once again working with the Salvation Army to collect donations across southeast Wisconsin this year.
Like many Salvation Army volunteers, Tinker waits outside of stores and rings a red bell in hopes that charitable holiday shoppers will make a donation to the organization’s Red Kettle campaign.
Salvation Army officials say that Tinker collects about $400 to $600 more than other bell ringers. The miniature horse was given an award earlier this year for his work with the charity.
On December 17, Tinker will take donations at the Walmart in Germantown from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. He will also appear at the Pick N’ Save South in West Bend on December 24 from 11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.
