A 16-year-old Lake Forest girl was killed last summer in Jackson Hole, Wyoming, when a 75-foot pine tree fell on her during a student camping trip. The girl never regained consciousness and was pronounced dead at the scene.
The teenager’s father has filed a wrongful death lawsuit against the company who put on the trip. According to the Lake Forester, the father is seeking more than $300,000 for the company’s negligence and willful and wanton conduct.
The girl was helping set up camp while two tour guides were placing bear-proofing measures on a pine tree when it fell and struck her.
